Parking is limited downtown Bloomington DUE TO CONSTRUCTION*  We do not have a parking lot - street spots are available but can be limited.  There is a 2hr PARKING LOT at the NW & SE corner of MAIN & MARKET, A larger no time limit parking lot at the corner of EAST & DOUGLAS- Across from Lucca Grill. There is a parking garage on FRONT ST across from Rosies  PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.    PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE 15MIN PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASS; as painting begins promptly at class start time!  The studio will be open 30min prior to the start of class.

We book private parties!

Private parties can be held anytime based on availability.

Most days are available for private parties (depending on availability) and can be reserved with a guaranteed minimum of 10 painters with a maximum of 30 people. 

  • 10 person minimum is required for a private party
  • $60 non-refundable reservation fee is required to reserve the date
  • You get to select ANY PAINTING you wish to do from our Masterpiece Gallery.  Please email us a screenshot or the name of your chosen painting to [email protected] 48hrs prior to your event.  
  • STEP-BY-STEP classes you will CHOOSE only ONE PAINTING; our artist can only paint one painting at a time
  • PICK YOUR OWN PAINTING is an option for private party but please know THIS IS NOT TEACHER LED CLASS - this is a free paint option where everyone chooses a different painting and only gets POINTERS from the artist - NOT STEP-BY-STEP Instruction;  If you think you or your group want HELP and GUIDANCE - this is NOT the class for you - you will want to select the step-by-step option
  • If you are looking for a custom creation; we can do that!!!  We need to have atleast a 7 day notice and there is an additional $35 charge for a custom painting.   
  • We can also do "PAINT YOUR PET" or "PAINT YOUR PARTNER" as options for the event for an additional charge of $5/per person - ask for more details on either of these if you are interested!
  • Classes are 2 hours.
  • Prices are $35/per person in addition to the $60 non-refundable reservation fee
  • We provide the canvas, easel, brushes, paint & apron.  
  • We PROVIDE wine glasses, corkscrews, ice buckets, plasticware, and paper plates. 
  • YOU bring ANY beverages both alcoholic or NON (including water) and/or appetizers for the party! MUST BE 21 to drink alcohol ID required*
  • If you are not sure how many participants you will have yet THATS OK!!  The minimum is required to book the event, We can add additional participants later- we can hold up to 30 participants.   We do need to have a final headcount and all payments received within 48hrs of the event, no payment for participants can be received at the studio day of class/event.
  • Please arrive AT LEAST 15 MIN  prior to the start of your event. CLASS WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT THE SCHEDULED TIME.  
  • The studio will be available 30min prior to the start of your event for set up, socializing and mingling.

What To Expect

No experience necessary! Everyone (Yes, everyone!) has an inner artist just waiting to be discovered. At Merlot and a Masterpiece, you will find a fun, relaxing, and creative environment where you can laugh, imagine and create your own Masterpiece.

What To Know

  • We do not have an age limit for your private party but require adult supervision for groups under 18 years of age.
  • We HIGHLY recommend a minimum age of 8yrs old - all of our paintings will take the entire 2hrs to complete.
  • For any participants drinking alcohol – you must be at least 21 years of age and have valid identification.

Included

  • Paint, the canvas, and the brushes.
  • Instruction from local artists.
  • Amenities, such as glasses, wine openers, ice, plates, and silverware.
  • Best of all, we clean up for you.

What To Bring

  • We are a complete BYOB (Bring your own booze).
  • Bring any drinks, alcoholic or NON, and your snack or food of choice.
  • Valid Identification Age 21+ for any alcohol consumption.
  • There is no dress code, but there is a possibility that you might get paint on your clothing. We will provide you with an apron but painters have been known to get involved in their work of art.

Birthday parties are not recommended for ages 7yrs old and under – parental participation may be required.
